New Delhi: The management of the Jetlite airways Sunday ordered an inquiry into the accident involving Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sishil Kumar Modi Who was injured after the driver of an airport coach carrying him to the aircraft to Ahmedabad applied sudden brakes.
"Mr Modi, along with four others, was to take a flight to Ahmedabad this morning. As per procedure, we provided a special coach to ferry him to the aircraft from the airport lounge and had Jetlite staff accompanying him as escort," Jetlite CEO Gary Kinshot told UNI.
As the coach was nearing the aircraft, the driver had to apply sudden brakes. As a result, Modi, who was standing in the vehicle, fell down and sustained minor injuries, he added.
Kinshot said Jetlite authorities offered medical assistance to Modi, which he said he did not need.
"Following the incident, Modi and another member of his team decided not to take the flight and said they would travel to Ahmedabad tomorrow,"Kinshot said. He said he had suspended the driver of the airport coach and launched an investigation into the incident.
