Late for flight, CPM MP wants rules bent

Kolkata: CPM MP Sujan Chakraborty created a ruckus at Kolkata airport on Wednesday morning after he was refused a boarding pass for reporting late, and then insisted that the rules could be bent for VIPs.
Though the Jadavpur parliamentarian whipped up a storm demanding to be on the plane, the Kingfisher Airlines staff stuck to their stand, ensuring that the 117 passengers on flight IT 512 to Mumbai did not have to suffer a delay.
"If we (VIPs) reach the airport 10-15 minutes after closure of check-in desk, special arrangements are made for us,'' he told TOI from Mumbai.
