Nagpur airport: BJP threatens agitation

Nagpur: Accusing Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel of creating obstacles in the transfer of Nagpur airport from Airport Authority of India (AAI) to Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC), state BJP has threatened to launch an agitation against him.
"It is Patel who is the main hurdle in transfer of Nagpur airport to MADC, the nodal agency for developing prestigious Multi-Model International Hub Airport, Nagpur (MIHAN)", state BJP president Nitin Gadkari said.
If the airport was not transferred to MADC within one month, the BJP will stage demonstrations at all NCP functions, he said, while urging people to boycott party's programmes.
Gadkari slammed Patel for "delaying" the transfer of project saying his ministry "was finding new excuses every time" to stall it.
