Mumbai: Air Arabia, UAE-based international low cost carrier, is keen to add mini metros to its route map in India by 2008-end. The airline has already applied to the Government of India for its requisite approval to operate from Amritsar, Hyderabad, Kozhizode, Trichy and Luchnow.
"We see sizeable business potential in these mini metros, considering that there isn't much competition in terms of airlines providing connectivity to the Gulf. By mid-2008, we hope to get the government approval, so that by the year-end we will be able to cover all the proposed mini metros," said Adel Ali, CEO, Air Arabia.
At present, Air Arabia connects Ahmedabad, Chennai, Jaipur, Kochi, Mumbai, Nagpur, Thiruvanathapuram, Coimbatore and Bangalore to the Gulf and beyond.
