Air-India Express plans daily flights from Doha to Kerala soon

Doha: Air India Express is to start daily services from Doha to Kerala “soon”, the airline’s new manager in Qatar said.
Giving her first newspaper interview after assuming charge, Mehjabeen Mukhtiar said the daily service would start latest with the summer schedule, due by March-end.
“We will have the new flights earlier, if we can, but definitely with the summer schedule,” she told Gulf Times.
With the new flights, the budget carrier will have 13 flights a week from Doha to India – three to Mumbai, three to Mangalore, five to Kozhikode, two to Thiruvananthapuram and daily to Kochi. “This will increase our capacity by 30% to and from Doha.”
Kochi will be sharing its services with either Kozhikode or Thiruvananthapuram, she said. On certain days, the flights would go non-stop to Kochi and on other days via Kozhikode or Thiruvananthapuram.
“We will make sure all markets are satisfied”.
She said the Kerala market would be catered to first followed by Mumbai. Delhi will be looked at later, she added.
