New Delhi: Though there was no fog or poor visibility, it was yet another day of delays at Delhi airport on Friday with several flights running behind schedule in the evening.
A number of flights — domestic arrivals as well as departures — were delayed by 20 minutes to four hours. Some international operations were also affected. Though safeguard procedures or low visibility procedures were not implemented on the runway, there were many delays. “There were nine landing delays because of overhead congestion,” said a Kingfisher airline official.
Another airline admitted that there was air congestion leading to delays, though it was not clear if it was because of non-operation of the glide path or any other reason.
