Online credit card fraud reported at Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: In another case of online credit card fraud, a zonal officer's credit card was misused by cyber criminals to purchase online tickets. A case has been registered with the Navrangpura police station in this matter.
Criminals used the credit card to conduct as much as 10 online transactions and purchased airline tickets worth Rs. 84,986. One Gururaj Kulkarni, a resident of Suvidhi Towers, Jivraj Park had filed a complaint with the police that his credit card was compromised. He didn't name a person in his complaint and said that he had never used his credit card for online transactions.
Police investigations revealed that 23 tickets of Air Deccan were booked from Ahmedabad to Bangalore and from Bangalore to other destinations of South India. The tickets were booked on December 5, 6 and 7. Police said that at least seven booking agents were involved in the fraud and all of them were located at various cities in South India.
