Airlines official accused of cheating

Imphal: Misappropriation of more than Rs.7.5 lakhs from the sale proceeds have been reported in account of the Indian Airlines Imphal division at State Bank of India, MG Avenue, an official source has said.
The authorities of the airlines in Imphal who lodged a complaint at the Imphal City police station suspect the money was taken away by one C Rongmei, son of late P Adim Kabui of Sangaiprou Kabui Khul who is serving in the division as accountant.
The accountant has been absent from his duty in the division since February 3 without informing the concerned higher authority of the office, the complaint said.
The complaint lodged by the area manager of the Indian Airlines Imphal division, P N Singh, reportedly said that the disappearance of the amount from the sale proceeds of the airline office deposited at the SBI, MG Avenue took place very recently.
