TIMES NOW learnt that neither was any questioning done, nor was there a demand for proof of identity when our correspondent showed an e-ticket at the entrance of Delhi airport, which is supposed to be one of the most high security zones in the country. Failure to check photo id by security guards at every gate of the airports shows a clear disregard for the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) rules. The scenario at Chennai airport was equally disappointing when our correspondent was waved in after a cursory glance at the e-ticket, and once inside, it was a stroll with no metal detectors in sight.
Although, the guard at Bombay airport was more vigilant and asked for an identity card, his fellow security men weren't as alert. On using the same e-ticket to enter from another gate, no doubts or questions were raised, and what's alarming is the fact that the security men were totally oblivious to the occurrence.
It is appalling that this laxity prevails at the nations busiest airports despite repeated terror attack warnings.
