Deccan`s cargo carrier plan to get delayed

The cargo airline of Captain C R Gopinath is likely to get delayed as the aircraft acquisition panel has deferred its application to launch a cargo carrier, reports Economic Times.
The aircraft panel has also denied a proposal from Reliance for the import of a brand new Gulfstream for non-scheduled air transport operation due to unavailability of space at Mumbai airport for general aviation. Reliance Transport and Travels had sought consent to import the aircraft for non-scheduled air transport (passenger) service.
Gopinath is looking at launching operations with three A-310 freighters and two ATR aircraft. Deccan Cargo, the new airline is likely to be based in Bangalore and have a paid-up equity capital of Rs 500 million. It will be separate from Deccan Aviation and would be owned by Gopinath. 99.9% stake will be held by him, whereas, KJ Samuel and SN Ladhani would hold 0.05%, sources said.
Deccan Cargo has not yet received security clearance from the home ministry and therefore, the civil aviation ministry may not grant initial no-objection certificate (NOC) to the company. The ministry would take up the matter in the next meeting, sources added.
