Embraer to Deliver 195-200 Jets in 2008

Sao Paulo, Brazil: Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer said Wednesday it is sticking to its plan of delivering 195-200 planes in 2008, after an executive suggested earlier that a lower figure was expected.
The company reiterated its outlook after an Embraer executive in India told reporters that the world's No. 4 plane maker planned to deliver 175-180 planes, which would be a reduction from previous guidance.
Embraer could not immediately explain why the lower figure was mentioned, but said its 195-200 forecast has not changed. The company delivered 169 planes last year.
"We want the balance between deliveries and new orders to be a stable and sustainable one," Orlando Neto, the managing director of Embraer Asia Pacific, told reporters on the sidelines of an aviation finance conference in Mumbai.
Embraer is in talks with Indian carriers to supply planes, he said, but gave no details.
