A family claim their luggage was looted of goods worth more than BD1,000 en route from Bahrain to India yesterday.
They claim airport authorities at each end are blaming each other - leaving them with no-one to turn to.
Bahrain resident K M Shamseer told the GDN that his mother K M Suhara, her brother U K Nazeer and their nephew U K Sharfaras left Bahrain for Calicut, Kerala, aboard an Indian Airlines flight, with a total of nine suitcases.
When they reached their destination, they found the locks on seven suitcases broken open and the contents looted.
Mr Shamseer said gold jewellery weighing 64gm (worth more than BD800), two mobiles together worth BD170, expensive cosmetics and clothing had been stolen.
"Airline authorities told us it is the responsibility of the airport authorities, though they didn't know which airport," he said.
