All-woman operated flight leaves for Colombo

Chennai: An all women-operated Air India flight left Chennai for Colombo on the occasion of International Women's Day.
A press release from the National Aviation Co. Ltd (NACIL) said that Captain M Deepa and Flight Officer N R Veda Bakavati flew IC 573/574 flight to the Sri Lankan capital.
Boasting an all-women crew of air-hostesses, women passengers flying to island nation were received with rose buds, symbolising the importance attached to this day.
Besides Deepa and Veda Bakavati, air hostesses Upasana, Nancy, Shreyas, Dhanpreet and Maya flew in the special flight operated between the two cities, the release said.
