Chandigarh: While the Airports Authority of India (AAI) Employees’ Joint Forum went on a nationwide indefinite strike from Wednesday, not much chaos was seen at the Chandigarh Airport. None of the flights were delayed and passengers faced no problems.
However, all the 22 members of the technical staff sat on a dharna outside the airport and would do the same tomorrow. Talking to Chandiagrh Newsline, Union secretary Suresh said, “We are observing a dharna as a mark of support to our colleagues. The duration of our strike depends upon our fellow colleagues.”
Meanwhile, the airport authorities are all set to handle staff shortage due to the strike. It has hired people from an outsourcing agency.
