China Eastern to increase frequency on Delhi-Beijing route

New Delhi: China Eastern Airlines has decided to add one more flight to its existing frequency of four flights a week on the Delhi-Beijing route. They plan to start the additional flight in summer this year. The airline plans to increase the frequency to daily flights on the route from winter this year. The airline will also introduce the A 330 on Indian routes. Currently, the airline is also considering Mumbai and Bangalore as their new destinations. They will operate some flights this year on Mumbai - Shanghai and Bangalore - Shanghai route. As per the bilateral agreement signed by the two governments the airline can fly from five points in India. According to Edward Zhu Xuemin, Chief Representative-India, China Eastern Airlines, the fifth destination could be either Chennai or Hyderabad.
The airline currently is focused on operating more flights from Indian destinations and adding more frequencies to the existing routes. They are working closely with China National Tourist Office (CNTO) in India and have together organised several FAM trips for agents last year.
