Nagpur: A 32-year-old man from Kerala landed in Nagpur police net after his attempt to board Air India's Dubai flight from Dr Ambedkar International Airport with a forged passport failed on Wednesday morning.
The arrested person has been identified as Abdul Salam, a resident of Ayyam Mala House, Bengalum village in Kerala.
Sources informed that during scrutiny of documents of the passengers, police inspector (immigration department, Nagpur police) Ravindra Kapgate noticed that Abdul Salam's passport was tampered with.Suspecting some foul play, the PI stopped the passenger and during investigation it was revealed that Abdul Salam had allegedly fiddled with the passport of some other person and replaced the photograph on it.
Abdul Salam had come to Nagpur from Kerala and he was planning to travel to Dubai in Air India Express' flight.
