New Delhi: The race for the top post of Air India-Indian Airlines combine, National Aviation Corp of India Ltd (NACIL), seems to have narrowed down to either an elevation of company joint MD V Trivedi or an extension for the incumbent V Thulasidas.
The selection panel headed by the cabinet secretary with secretaries of the aviation ministry and department of personnel as members held interviews of the applicants for the post.
Among the applicants for the post are — Trivedi; joint secretary (ministry of finance) Arvind Mayaram and three AI directors Anup Srivastava, Chandra Shekhar and Amod Sharma. Some candidates who could have been strong contender for this post, like additional secretary in aviation ministry Raghu Menon (who has been moved to secretary grade), bowed out of the race. Of the nine shortlisted candidates, only seven turned up for the interview.
