Passenger amenities affected at Kolkata airport

Kolkata: There was no disruption in air services though passenger amenities were severely affected at the city’s Netaji Subash Chandra Bose International Airport on Wednesday because of the non-cooperation movement called by the Airports Authority Employees’ Union (AAEU).
Thirty personnel of the Indian Air Force were deployed for maintaining crash fire services and tarmac operations that include marshalling of aircraft from the runway, Defence spokesman R.K. Das said.
Though the flight schedules were maintained passenger amenities like cleaning of toilets and availability of trolleys were affected, an official of the Airports Authority of India said.
There has been no diversion of aircraft or over-flying, the air traffic control reported.
