Singapore Airlines (SIA) is looking to expand operations in India. Not content with increasing the frequency of its flights to twice daily from key Indian cities, it is also exploring the option of chalking out 'India onward' routes. Budget 2008-09
The airline is currently using all capacity the bilateral agreements between the two countries allow, but more flights may soon be allowed.
To begin with, it has decided to launch a twice-a-week morning flight to Singapore from New Delhi beginning March 30. This flight offers a 57 per cent discounted fare at Rs 17,658 (all taxes and surcharge included) and could give stiff competition to other domestic carriers flying this route daily.
