Air India offers concession for cherry transportation

Srinagar: Air India has offered freight concession for transportation of cherry from Srinagar to other parts of the country from next month, a Jammu and Kashmir government official said today.
Effective from May 1, the concession for transportation of cherry from Srinagar to Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Kolkata will last one month, the spokesman of J and K Horticulture Planning and Marketing Department said.
He said it has been decided that each consignment will have a minimum weight of 100 kgs and each flight will carry maximum of 1000 kgs of the fruit.
The spokesman appealed to the cherry and fruit growers to avail this opportunity.
