Airnetz Aviation to induct five VLJs by end of 2009

Navi Mumbai: Navi Mumbai based Airtnetz Aviation; a company providing business jet charters and helicopter services in India is planning to expand its fleet size. The company, which commenced operations this month, is considering two major international aircraft manufacturers, Switzerland based Diamond Aircraft Industries and New Mexico based Eclipse Aviation to induct five VLJs (Very Light Jets). With a total capacity of six private jets and eight helicopters, the company is on the look out for light jets to cater to the corporate segment.
Atul Khekada, CEO, Airnetz Aviation said, “With the increasing demand from the corporate segment for small and light jet charters, we have applied for a license to operate VLJs and are awaiting the approval from DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation). The company is considering placing the order of Eclipse 500 (six seater) by Eclipse Aviation and D-Jet (five seater) by Diamond Aircraft. We are also expecting the delivery of five light jets from the manufacturers by end of 2009. The company is targeting to cater about 400 corporate clients and a turn over of Rs ten crore by March 2009. By March 2011, we are aiming to touch a turnover of Rs 50 crore.”
