New Delhi: The board of directors of Deccan Aviation in a recent meeting considered letters by Gopinath, requesting to remove his name from the promoter or promoter group category, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange on Friday.

The board also removed company directors KJ Samuel and Vishnu Singh Rawal from the category.
The merger between Kingfisher Airlines and Air Deccan of Deccan Aviation, is now awaiting the Karnataka High Court approval.
After the nod from the court, the merged entity will be called Kingfisher Airlines Ltd and will have about 30 per cent market share. Gopinath would be the vice-chairman of the merged company.
