Indian Airlines sees Bahrain traffic up 20pc

Manama: Indian Airlines has registered a 20 per cent growth in the number of passengers carried last year over 2006 from Bahrain, according to the airline officials.
The airline, which flies daily to Calicut and Cochin from Bahrain, has been registering a steady growth over the years, said Abhay Pathak, regional manager (Gulf), National Aviation Company of India Limited (NACIL), the entity into which Indian Airlines and Air India have been amalgamated.
Country manager Niranjan Kumar said the airline registered a 20 per cent growth in the number of passengers carried last year, over 2006.
Awards were presented to the general sales agents Dadabhai Travel and top 10 travel agents, two cargo agents, the BAS (Bahrain Airport Services) catering and Golden Tulip.
The award winners included Pegasus Travels, Bahrain Overseas Travel and Cargo, Al Fanar Travel, Al Noaimi Travel & Tours, Kanoo Travel Agency, Al Kobaisi Travel & Tours, Al Amal Travel, Tours & Cargo, Al Rahal Travel & Tours, Concorde Travel & Tours, Nasser Travel & Tours, and Atlas Travel & Cargo.
