Kingfisher plans package tours

Tiruchi: Kingfisher Airlines on Sunday launched daily services on Chennai-Tiruchi-Chennai sector and was planning to tie-up with the State Tourism Department to offer package tours to heritage and pilgrimage centres in and around Tiruchi.
“We would be talking to the Tourism Department soon on a tie-up to offer package tours to heritage centres and pilgrimage destinations such Srirangam, Velankanni, Thanjavur and Navagraha kshetras,” V.Raja, Regional Vice President (Sales), South India and South East Asia, Kingfisher Airlines Limited, told The Hindu here.
Mr.Raja was here for the launch of the airlines flight from Tiruchi to Chennai. N. Siva, Rajya Sabha Member, received the first flight from Chennai along with the Airport Director S.Sreekumar and other officials. Mr.Siva welcomed the introduction of the service and observed that Tiruchi was all set for rapid industrial growth over the next few years.
