NCP leader alleges harassment Air India staff

Mumbai: A state NCP functionary who, along with his family members, went to Saudi Arabia for pilgrimage on Monday alleged he was harassed by Jeddah airport officials as also by immigration and Air India staff in Mumbai for non-possession of certain documents.
"I was tortured by officials at Jeddah on landing there on April 20. They did not even have the courtsey to offer us water. We were told that our visa did not have a particular stamp as a result of which we were not allowed entry into Saudi Arabia," Munaf Hakim, General Secretary of state NCP, said.
"We were brought back by an Air India flight the next day and upon arrival, we were subjected to mental torture by immigration and Air India staff who treated us as if we were criminals," Hakim told reporters here on Monday.
Hakim said the woman officer on duty did not allow his family members to visit toilet. "We were treated as if we had committed a serious offence and as if we had been arrested," he said.
Actually, it was the fault of the Saudi Arabia counsulate at Mumbai that the visa was not stamped properly but we bore the brunt, Hakim said.
