A cheque of Rs. 8.92 crores (interim dividend for 79.5% equity held by Government of India) was presented to the Minister of Civil Aviation, Shri. Praful Patel by the CMD, Pawan Hans Helicopters Ltd. (PHHL), Shri. R.K. Tyagi, here today.
The year 2007-08 has been a year of all-round progress and growth of PHHL, a company owned by Government of India. The operating profit increased from Rs. 2.78 crores in 2006-07 to Rs. 8.37 crores in 2007-08. While the net profit after tax rose from Rs. 9.25 crores to Rs. 25.10 crores, the number of helicopters deployed rose from 21 to 24 and the fleet serviceability increased from 66% to 74% in the same period. The revenue hours have also witnessed an increase from 19290 to 21582 hours.
During the year 2007-08, 12 AS4 compliant helicopters were offered to ONGC. The updation work of these helicopters was taken up by the engineers and technicians of PHHL. These 12 helicopters also included country's first full time medical evacuation helicopter which have been offered in an offshore configuration.
