Kolkata: More than 800 passengers flying to Bagdogra were held up after a last- minute change to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s flight plan left schedules in a mess.
The Prime Minister was returning from Paro and was scheduled to fly over Bagdogra around 3.45 pm. Accordingly, Airports Authority of India issued a notice and restricted flight operations over Bagdogra from 3.45 pm to 4.45 pm.
However, Singh’s schedule was brought forward by 75 minutes, to around 2 pm. This disrupted flight schedules. While an Air India flight was cancelled, the SpiceJet and Deccan flights were delayed.
