Kochi: India's low-cost airline Deccan (Simplifly Deccan) has teamed up with Periyar Tiger Reserve to promote tiger conservation and eco-tourism.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Saturday, Capt G R Gopinath, Executive Chairman of Deccan, said the official inauguration of the joint initiative will be held tomorrow. He said Deccan has teamed up with Kerala Forest Department and Periyar Tiger Reserve to offer 'Simplifly Periyar' -- a unique eco-tourism initiative to work toward achieving "responsible and sustainable tourism'' in the region.
The partnership aims at providing convenient access to Periyar to promote responsible travel for conservation, he said.
'Simplifly Periyar' would offer wildlife enthusiasts and leisure travelers the opportunity to travel, stay, explore and closely experience the spectacular wildlife and the natural heritage of Periyar, he said.
