Eclipse 500 certified in India, Australia

Albuquerque, N.M.: Eclipse Aviation said Thursday it has received certification to operate its Eclipse 500 aircraft in India and Australia, the first two foreign countries to certify the very light jet.
The Director General of Civil Aviation in India granted the Eclipse 500 certification April 7 and the Civil Aviation Safety Agency in Australia approved the jet on April 22, the company said in a news release Thursday.
The certifications allow Eclipse customers to register and operate their Eclipse 500 jets in these two countries.
"These accomplishments mark the first of many worldwide Eclipse 500 certifications," said Vern Raburn, the Albuquerque manufacturer's president and CEO.
"These certifications in India and Australia position us to meet the strong demand for this innovative aircraft in these countries," he said.
Certification in India and Australia gives Eclipse approval to export aircraft and receive certificates of airworthiness.
