IndiGo manager goes missing from airport

Kolkata: The airport manager of low-cost carrier IndiGo Airlines - 40-year-old Bijoy Matta - has gone missing. Matta was last seen at the airport on Tuesday evening. His wife says he has not returned after he left home at 10 am on Tuesday.
Matta did not report for work on Wednesday, airport officials say. A missing diary has been filed at NSCBI police station inside the airport. Officers are tracing his movements on the day and may possibly scan his cellphone records to ascertain his whereabouts. Matta’s mobile phone was reportedly on till Wednesday evening after which it was switched off.
The incident has shocked airline and airport officials. "We heard that Matta has gone missing," said airport deputy director Mahesh Kaul.
Police said that Matta, a resident of Rajarhat New Town, had been working as the manager of the IndiGo Airlines for quite some time. He left his house for work at 10 am on Tuesday but did not report at the airport. His colleagues, however, remember seeing him at the airport. Colleagues tried to contact him but he did not take the calls.
On Wednesday morning, Matta’s wife Mina received a mysterious SMS on her cellphone from Matta’s mobile, where it was mentioned that he was going to an "unidentified destination", leaving his car at the City Centre parking lot in Salt Lake. "The message said that he was going through a financial crisis and that he could not bear the pressure any longer," said a police officer.
