New Delhi: There's good news for those who dread roaming around at airports like zombies, in the dead of night, to board international flights out of India. The aviation ministry has started insisting that countries wishing to introduce or add flights to India must offer convenient departure times.
This concern for the long-suffering Indian globetrotter has already started reflecting in new bilateral agreements being now signed with other countries, resulting in airlines adding daytime flights from here.
"Why should our international departures be at odd hours? Departures have to be convenient to passengers according to our times and foreign time zones. There are some flights with historical right at those times, but now on we will insist on convenient departure timings," aviation minister Praful Patel told TOI . Currently, most international departures are at night and very few during daytime.
