HYDERABAD: A Thai woman on a tourist visa to India was arrested at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad, in the wee hours of Saturday for attempting to smuggle 2.2 kg of heroin worth Rs 2.2 crore in the international market. She has been remanded to judicial custody.
Acting on a tip-off, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officials seized the contraband from Pincaho Khronvipa's checked-in luggage. DRI officials said the 28-year-old Thai national had landed in Delhi from Bangkok on April 30 and arrived in Hyderabad on Friday (May 9) by JetLite.
