Afghan national arrested

Hyderabad: An 18-year-old Afghan national, who was deported by Colombo airport authorities, was arrested at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport by the immigration officials on Sunday morning. During interrogation, immigration officials found that the accused was using a Mexican national's passport. According to immigration officials, Javed, a native of Kabul, the capital city of Afghanisthan, boarded Sri Lankan Airlines flight UL-176 on May 31 and reached Colombo the same day using the passport of a Mexican national, Garcia Lopez Rafael.
"He was planning to go to Paris via Colombo but as he did not answer the queries of the immigration officials at the Colombo airport, he was deported in a return flight to Hyderabad on Sunday morning," DCP (Crimes), Cyberabad, G Surya Prakasa Rao said.
After questioning the accused for nearly seven hours, the immigration officials at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, came out with information that raised doubts over the security at international airports in the country.
Immigration officials found out that Javed came to New Delhi on March 26, 2008 and stayed there for nearly two months.
In Delhi, Javed secured a passport of a Mexican national, Garcia Lopez Rafael of Mexican City and replaced the original photograph with his own. He also secured an Indian tourist visa valid from March 20 to September 19.
Immigration officials said that Javed came to Hyderabad 10 days back with some other people and stayed in a hotel.
