Nagpur: The residents to Nagpur will for the first time get a direct flight to Jaipur and another low-cost option for travelling to New Delhi as the Deccan Airways plans to introduce a direct flight on the Nagpur-Jaipur-Delhi sector soon.
A senior official of Deccan Airways confirmed that the airlines plan to introduce low-cost flights on the Nagpur-Delhi sector, which will have a stopover at Jaipur. Looking at the heavy demand for Jaipur and Delhi sector in the winter season the new service will be introduced from October this year, he added.
Presently, Indigo airlines operate a flight for Jaipur via Mumbai in late hours. Passengers board the flight for Jaipur at 8.30 pm and reach Jaipur at almost 12.35 am (stop over at Mumbai from 10.05 pm to 11 pm).
"However Deccan's new Nagpur-Jaipur-Delhi flight will be operated in early morning, while return flights will be operated in late evening, providing passengers the option of early morning and evening flight for Delhi,” the official added. Presently, Air India (earlier Indian), Indigo and Jet Airways operate morning, afternoon and evening flight respectively on the Delhi sector.
Deccan Airways Corporate communication official from Bangalore said, "Our planning team is working on the feasibility of the new flights. As soon as we get the new aircraft, new destinations will be planned from October onwards”.
