Indigo pilot accused of suicide abetment given bail

Mumbai: Pilot Arjun Menon of Indigo Airlines, who was arrested for abetment to suicide of his airhostess friend Sucheta Anand, has been given bail on a personal bond of Rs 25000.
Menon said in the application that even if prosecution case was accepted, no case was made out under Section 306 (abetment to suicide) of the Indian Penal Code.
He stated that he was not present in the suburban hotel room when Anand hung herself from the ceiling fan. He had also not done anything to instigate her to commit such act.
The application came up for hearing On Saturday before judge Vinay Joshi but was adjourned to June 25 after prosecution sought time.
Prosecutor R V Kini said that the police report on the matter had not yet been received and sought time of two days.
According to prosecution case, Anand was staying at a suburban Juhu hotel and Menon was with her for 15 hours on June seven, the day when Anand committed suicide.
