Mallya picks up fight with A-I top brass

New Delhi: He's the king of good times, an affable Santa Claus for India's Jet set. Vilay Mallya, Chief of Kingfisher, is best known for mixing business with pleasure.
But he's now shown his tough side. Mallya has taken his fight straight to the Air India, which has opposed his taking over as the Chairman of the Federation of Indian Airlines, after Air I-ndia chairman V Thulasidas retired.
In e-mail an exclusively available with CNN-IBN, top Air India official Anita Khurana has demanded that current Air India chairman Raghu Menon be the FIA Chairman, since Thulasidas still had one more year to go at that position.
Air India has now threatened to pull out of the FIA but Mallya hasn't pulled any punches either. He has told Khurana she had no standing on the issue and that he would speak only to the CMD of Air India and counter threatened the national carrier saying he was ready to pull out of the FIA.
