Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officers had to arrest a drunken passenger after he created a ruckus at the GoAir airline counter at the Santa Cruz airport early on Sunday morning. One of the airline staff suffered minor injuries in the process.
The passenger was angry for being asked to wait for a long time and later asked to return the next day as his flight was cancelled.
Parthraj Venkat Parmeshwar, 39, reached Santa Cruz airport at 7.50 pm on Saturday to take GoAir’s Mumbai-Delhi flight G8 456. As the flight was to leave at 8.20 pm and Parmeshwar had reported late, he was not allowed to board the plane. “Since Parmeshwar said that it was urgent for him to get to Delhi, he asked the airline to cancel his current ticket and put him on any other flight. GoAir put him on another flight to Delhi scheduled to leave at 11.10pm,” said an airport official.
Parmeshwar went to have dinner and returned drunk at 11pm at the airline’s counter at terminal 1B. When the airline staff told him that the 11.10 pm flight was cancelled and asked him to come the next day, he got irritated.
