SkyGourmet bags Lufthansa deal

The in-flight catering business in the city received a shot in the arm with SkyGourmet bagging the exclusive catering contract from Lufthansa for their flights to Frankfurt from Pune. The operations will begin from July 1.
SkyGourmet is a part of the Mars Group of Hotels and Restaurants that also runs Gordon House hotels.
“We will cater to all Lufthansa flights from Pune, six days a week. We have also finalised deals for three Kingfisher flights, one which is already operational,” said Gordon House, Pune manager (operations) Chintu Bose. He is in-charge of the air catering operations in Pune.
Bose said that air traffic in the last two years has grown two-fold with over a million passengers flying out of the city each year. The company is now looking for a suitable place close to the airport where a flight kitchen can come up. As of now, food is cooked at Gordon House Hotel on University Road and transported to the airport.
