Early morning, late night flights to Mumbai likely

Nagpur: Flying to Mumbai is considered to be fast but not so for Nagpurians taking morning flights. Regular travellers have demanded that the first flight to the state's capital should be as early as 6.30 am and also a late night flight back to the second capital.
To make their request a reality, Indigo airlines and Kingfisher airlines have started putting plans in place. It may take a few months for the flights to get operational. Indigo Airlines is also keen on starting flights to Chennai and New Delhi, said sources.
Presently, industrialists, businessmen, government officials and even local politicians are having a tough time as there is no way they can reach important places like Mantralaya and Nariman Point before 12.30 pm. The only way out for them is to have an overnight stay in Mumbai.
A frequent flyer, P Hemarajani said, "The morning flights either Jet or Indian to Mumbai takes off after 8.30 am. These flights come from Mumbai and many times due to congestion at the Mumbai airport, get delayed by an hour or more. As a result, the earliest flight reaches Mumbai by 10.30 am. After that, it takes at least two hours to reach to your destination from the airport irrespective of whatever mode of transport you opt for."
