Man held for abusing airhostess

Kolkata: A Jet Airways passenger from Bangkok was arrested at Kolkata airport on Wednesday on charges of misbehaving with an airhostess.
Dinesh Kumar Gupta (35) was rounded up by airport security staff as soon as the flight landed in the afternoon. Later, he was arrested by airport police.
Gupta, a resident of Behala, was returning home from a business trip to Bangkok. His brother Ashok Kumar was seated next to him. After finishing his meal, Gupta wanted a drink. Ten minutes before landing, he took out a bottle of alcohol from his bag and asked air hostess Maria Cari to provide him a glass to pour his drink.
“When the airhostess refused to give him a glass and asked him not to drink as the aircraft would be landing soon, the passenger became furious and started hurling filthy abuses at Cari,” alleged a crew member. During the argument, Gupta rose from his seat and allegedly pushed Cari and even threatened her with dire consequences. She immediately informed the captain who, in turn, informed airport security.
