Plane door was locked, says Jet Airways

New Delhi: A day after a Jet Airways flight with Union Minister Sharad Pawar on board made an emergency landing after taking off from Delhi airport as a door of the aircraft was allegedly not locked properly, the airline on Saturday said they found no “discrepancies” in their enquiry.
On Friday evening, flight 9W 362 from Delhi to Mumbai carrying 122 passengers and crew had to return to Delhi airport shortly after take-off as one of the doors was allegedly not locked properly.
“The reason for this was that the cabin crew reported to the pilot a discrepancy with the aircraft service, though the door was locked and armed. There were no warnings or indications of any discrepancy in the cockpit,” the official added.
On reports about two crew members of that flight being suspended for Friday’s incident, an airline spokesperson said: “There is no such order. We will send our report to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation on Monday and whether there is a suspension or not will be decided only on that day.”
