Runway girl: A security breach?

Lucknow: At around 11 pm, a 17-year-old girl entered the runway of Amausi airport under suspicious circumstances and remained there for quite some time till some of the authorities spotted her. The girl was reportedly present near the runway even when two flights took off.
The girl was first taken into custody by the fire authorities present on the airport and was later handed to the CISF personnel. The girl was wearing a blue T-shirt and a blue jeans and was bare footed. However, no weapons were found in the security check.
During her interrogation by CISF personnel, the girl kept on changing her identities. The CISF later informed the district police who took the girl in their custody. The problem the district police too faced during interrogation was that the girl did not reply to any of the questions properly. The cops later on Tuesday morning handed the girl to the women police station and ordered for a medical test to verify whether she was mentally unstable. The medical report of the girl was, however, awaited.
The police, till late on Tuesday evening, could not even come out with the identity of the victim as she kept on changing her name, switching between Radha and Shalu. Talking to TOI on how the girl managed to enter the airport premises and then went on to the runway, the director Airport Authority of India (AAI) SD Awasthi said, "the girl was not found on the runway at the time she was taken into custody, but near the fire station and it was not clear how the girl reached there. Perhaps the girl entered the premises by jumping from the boundary wall and belonged to a village at the back portion of the airport."
