New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has called upon all agencies concerned to expedite work on connectivity projects that would open five new routes to Indira Gandhi International Airport here.
Dikshit, while inspecting the new runway at the airport which is almost set for commercial operations, also instructed PWD and Delhi Jal Board to complete their projects in the airport soon.
The PWD has assured that part of drainage assigned to it would be completed and integrated with drainage already constructed by the GMR.
The five connectivity projects to the airport include Dwarka circle underpass, northern access via Dwarka circle, northern underpass, Mahipalpur underpass and southern access via Dwarka express link.
GMR officials told Dikshit that that 4.5-km-long and 75-meter-wide third runway, which will be able handle wide bodied aircraft like Airbus A-380 and Antonov An-225, are almost ready and its final trial will take place on August 21.
