Mallya defers jet delivery plan from Airbus

London: Kingfisher Airlines has decided to delay the delivery of 32 A320 short-haul jets from European aircraft maker Airbus, the Indian premium airline's billionaire chief Mr Vijay Mallya told a business daily.
“Kingfisher has also negotiated with Airbus to defer orders for 32 A320-family short-haul jets from 2008-09 to 2010-12,” the British publication Financial Times reported today.
Kingfisher Airlines is expanding its operations to overseas, starting with those to London, after the Indian government earlier this month granted the traffic rights to operate services to global destinations to Deccan Aviation.
