Doha: Premium class passengers boarding flights at Cochin airport, India complain of “inadequate facilities” at the airport.
Passengers, who just returned from a trip to Kerala, said premium class passengers were not offered the facilities they were entitled.
Both economy class passengers and premium class passengers were put together in the buses for airside travel, both from the airport to the terminal and vice versa.
“The buses were rickety and they are packed to the capacity,” one passenger said.
The buses were sub-standard and did not meet with the specifications of the International Air Transport Association, said another.
An airline official in Doha said Air-India had outsourced the task to Akbar Travels which had deployed the “old and substandard buses”.
K Prasad, general manager, Jet Airways in Qatar, said he frequently received complaints from premium class passengers.“The airport building is huge. It has 36 immigration counters but most of the time only four or five are manned; this results in long delays,” he said.
Staff shortage puts additional pressure on the current workforce, resulting in behaving rudely to passengers, Prasad said.
