Ahmedabad: The Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) recently tied up with Jet Airways to diversify into air package tours. According to a report in Economic Times, this new flyaway package is aimed at higher income groups and will attract government officials who are entitled to avail Leave Travel Concessions (LTC). The destinations for these packages include Leh-Ladakh, Srinagar-Pahalgam, Gulmarg-Sonmarg and Andaman-Nicobar Islands.
Earlier, IRCTC had launched rail package tours and road package tours, which included lodging and boarding for different income groups. Apart from this, IRCTC also plans to introduce ‘rail package tours’ to ‘Shirdi’ and ‘Mata Vaishnodevi’ from Ahmedabad.
