The National Aviation Company of India Limited (NACIL) and Shiv Sena-backed union, All India Cabin Crew Association (AICCA), has reached an agreement on wages and other related issues.
“We have signed a Memorandum of Settlement (MoS) with the management on wages and other issues. The MoS is in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that we had inked with the then Air India in 1997," AICCA president, Kiran Pawaskar, said. The MoS fulfils a major demand of the employees, Pawaskar said, adding that "all issues related to the merger (of Air India and Indian Airlines) have been resolved amicably."
AICCA was one of the airline unions which had challenged the merger process in court. "Both parties have also agreed to resolve any other issue in a time-bound manner through a joint co-ordination committee," Pawaskar said.
The cabin crew has also agreed to reduce lay-overs and long-haul flights, he said.
