Patel for more focus on aviation

New Delhi: Expressing his displeasure at the way civil aviation sector is being treated at present, the civil aviation minister, Mr Praful Patel, today said “some” in the government don’t give it the priority it deserves.
“It is unfortunate that some (people) in the government do not understand the aviation sector. They treat the sector just like any other mode of transport and fail to understand the importance of the aviation sector... I feel sorry for them,” the minister said while addressing media in a function to announce the country’s first civilian air show ~ India Aviation 2008 ~ to be held in Hyderabad from 15 October.
The minister came out with these remarks while referring to demands for rationalisation of taxes for aviation sector which had been turned down by the government.
