Thiruvananthapuram: In connection with the setting up of engineering maintenance base in Thiruvananthapuram, Air India Express (AIE) will carry out ‘phase-checks’ on its aircraft here from Friday.
As a result, the frequency of the AIE services in the domestic sector from here will increase, Air India Express chief operating officer P P Singh has said.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, he said that at present aircraft based in Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, Kochi and Chennai were being sent to Mumbai for conducting phasecheck which is mandatory after every 500 hours of flying.
With the commencement of the phasecheck at Thiruvananthapuram, the flights at other airports in the state will be brought here as scheduled flight.
To start with, two phase-checks will be conducted at Thiruvananthapurmam per week.
