Software error lands these women in soup

Mumbai: Two women, travelling from Rome to Kochi via Doha by a Qatar airline flight, found that their return ticket had been put on the waiting list. They discovered it only three days before their return flight on Monday. However, the reason that the airline gave them was more shocking than anything else.
When the women, Jainamma Joseph and her daughter Sneha Thomas, asked the officials about the reason for being put on the waiting list, the airline allegedly told that "the passengers (Jainamma and Sneha) had never arrived in India.
According to their computer records, there was a no show by the two passengers, they were told. "My relatives are supposed to take a flight on Monday and I had called to confirm the tickets and the schedule. We were taken aback when the airline said my relatives had never arrived in India,'' said Shibu Joseph, a member of the womens' family.
"According to the airline officials, there was no computer record after Doha.'' Jainamma and Sneha, who are visiting their relatives in Kochi, are supposed to fly back to Rome by a Qatar airways flight.
"When I kept insisting, they asked us to produce the boarding passes. Fortunately, we had it handy,'' said Joseph. “The airline confirmed the ticket later, saying that their software had errors.''
Qatar Airways, however, said it was not their fault but the travel agent in Rome was to be blamed.
